Corporate Group FRITZ & MACZIOL : INFOMA® Increases Turnover to Almost 150 Million Euros

Ulm, 23rd April 2007 — The Ulm corporate Group FRITZ & MACZIOL : INFOMA® continues the positive development of the last few years. With a turnover of almost 150 million euros, the company, which belongs to the Dutch technology Group Imtech N.V., has completely fulfilled its targets for the 2006/2007 business year (01/04/2006 – 31/03/2007). In comparison to the same period in the previous year (111 million euros), turnover rose by 35 percent and, thus, matches the average growth rate of 35 percent achieved over the last ten years. The number of employees has increased to 410, of whom 250 alone are working as consultants. The corporate Group is now represented at 16 branches in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and in the Philippines with FRITZ & MACZIOL Asia Inc.
All FRITZ & MACZIOL : INFOMA® business areas are showing positive development. In the last quarter of the 2006 calendar year alone the Group achieved a turnover of 57 million euros. The national companies of Rosenheim AG (Switzerland) and the Austrian FRITZ & MACZIOL Ges. mbH are also looking back on a successful year. FRITZ & MACZIOL Asia Inc., the joint venture started in summer of last year, is already in the black after its first operative year and is continuing to expand the IBM software solution business alongside the infrastructure business.
The essential factors in the continued corporate success are, like last year, high investments in own, innovative product developments and services, staff know-how and locations. More than 110 new highly qualified staff have been taken on across all corporate areas. The Central and Northern regions have been strengthened by setting up offices in Frankfurt and Berlin.
The overall Group Imtech N.V. has also seen turnover growth. The growth field ICT has strengthened in the Imtech Group thanks to the excellent turnover result from FRITZ & MACZIOL : INFOMA®. At the same time, the Group is implementing its strategy of taking on a leading role in Europe in the IBM and Microsoft field.

The continued expansion of the portfolio for all innovative IT solution topics on software, infrastructure / hardware and services provided the two-figure growth rate for FRITZ & MACZIOL. With an increase of 45 or 30 percent compared to the previous year, the areas of own services and trade in particular contributed to the excellent result for the leading company for software, systems and services. With SAP Technology Consultation & Remote Services FRITZ & MACZIOL, as one of very few systems companies, has been enlisting experts for customers across Germany since the middle of last year to provide know-how on all SAP infrastructure solutions in the IBM environment.
FRITZ & MACZIOL has many years of experience and numerous international projects with its solutions for despatch, automation and logistics in the raw materials and bulk goods industry. As a result, expansion has been effected to other industries, e.g. foodstuffs and chemicals. The IAS Team (Industrial Applications and Services), under the new management of Hans Peter Wallner (except Austria) has now been strengthened by experienced staff and has once more proven its expertise in innovative solutions with a now 30-person team.
Furthermore, the company has also strengthened its strategic cooperation with selected software suppliers (ISV) in the framework of the Solution NetWork Center. All activities with the ISVs in distribution, marketing and technology are combined here under one roof. The aim is to offer joint customers added value through individual, tailored IT solutions from one source.
FRITZ & MACZIOL reports an increase of 100 percent in IBM software business. New appointments were also made in this area in all regions last year. Requested solution topics on archiving and SOA, amongst others, are always being implemented by the software team in all regions. Further strengthening of the skills in this area is planned for the next period.
As one of the few IBM Premier Partners FRITZ & MACZIOL already has many years of experience with the complete IBM range of services. The certified high expertise of the company is also documented by the numerous awards. As a Top4 partner, IBM honoured the excellent software and services business and the IBM new customer business of FRITZ & MACZIOL with the Bestseller 2006 Award in all three categories. FRITZ & MACZIOL was given the highest IBM award at the end of April, the IBM Beacon Award 2007, in the course of the IBM PartnerWorld Conference as winner of the “Best Virtualisation Solution” category and finalist in the “Best IBM Information Management Solution”.

With new modules, double entry certification, the UnsereVerwaltung joint project and numerous new decisions for the integrated complete solution newsystem® kommunal, INFOMA® has consolidated its position in the public sector. On 01/01/2007 alone, 170 municipal administrations and public bodies began live operation, which were managed by INFOMA® directly and by the INFOMA® Partner Group. In total, INFOMA® has acquired 150 new customers over the last business year and, therefore, increased the number of local authorities involved to more than 700. With the INFOMA® Partner Group the supplier of municipal software solutions is now addressing a total of 1,100 customers.
The modular process newsystem® kommunal has taken on a central role in administrative IT thanks to its maturity and completely integrated solutions, which always meet the needs of municipal users. The new modules of Building Valuation, Cleaning Management and Land Register Management of the Real Estate and Building Management component, and module expansions of the Law Enforcement component, are the latest examples of the constant development.
newsystem® kommunal is also an essential factor in the UnsereVerwaltung joint project as a key building block. The project initiated by INFOMA® with ten selected partners demonstrates to local authorities how solutions from different specialist areas can work together smoothly in an integrated administration, using real scenarios.
The quality of the integrated complete solution is confirmed by two certifications issued according to the expanded criteria. After the SAKD certification for the single entry accounting system, the double entry NKR/NFK system of newsystem® kommunal has now received certification from an independent audit company.
INFOMA® was also awarded the Microsoft Partner Recognition Award 2006 in the product area Microsoft Business Solutions (MBS) as global industry partner of the year.
The INFOMA® managing directors Eberhard Macziol and Oliver Couvigny see the reasons for the continued good results of last year in the high functionality of the solution, but also in the extensive know-how and practical experience of the employees: “A large number of our staff have been with the company for many years, know the market, the customers and the usage possibilities of the solution to be developed individually for each local authority. We will continue our successful path with these prerequisites and consistently pursue the expansion of the business across Europe. This also includes acquiring new municipal IT service providers for the INFOMA® Partner Group, as we want to generate new users.
Outlook for the FRITZ & MACZIOL : INFOMA® Corporate Group
In accordance with the motto “Think global, act local”, the FRITZ & MACZIOL : INFOMA® strategy for the future is clearly to continue the adopted expansion course and the intensification of customer relations. The success of the last few years proves that this is a successful strategy. For the short-term the company intends to continue expansion in terms of staff and locations, including setting up new offices and expanding existing ones, such as in Stuttgart, Munich and Düsseldorf. “Our main aim is to continue meeting our customers needs 100 percent in proven ways in projects and, thus, to ensure their success”, according to the four-man management team.
